- Heritage Train, Lavender Bay, Sydney High Line
Last February TRANSPORT HERITAGE NSW and the SYDNEY HARBOUR HIGH LINE Association (SHHL) conducted a train ride along the rail corridor from North Sydney Station past Waverton Station to Lavender Bay and return. The event on 12th February involved 6 rides throughout the day with approx.1200 passengers taking part in the event.
During 2017 the SHHL has been working with Sydney Trains to design, cost and build a walking trail along the rail corridor. After construction the SHHL will share use of the corridor with Sydney Trains.
The SHHL has also been planning, in consultation with Transport Heritage NSW, for another train event on the line this year.
We were hoping to have access to one of the steam locomotives for this next event. Instead we will be using the Vintage Electric Train – Set F1.
The event will be on SUNDAY 10th DECEMBER 2017. Due to the rides proximity to Xmas we are currently in negotiations with a special guest to join us on the day.
As tickets sold out quickly for the February event many of our members missed out on that ride.
The December ride will have priority booking for financial members of the SHHL. If you aren’t a member please go to: https://www.sydneyharbourhighline.org.au/support-shhl/
Further details will be on our website and as final arrangements and timing are announced all members will be contacted.
